African Mask Paper Cutting

I LOVE paper cutting and loved seeing the outcome when 6th grade artists were tasked to use this technique to create African Masks. Students had to find a balance between positive and negative space while they interplayed a monochromatic contrasting color pallet.

Geometric Still Life

This lesson demonstrates bursts of color and form! 6th graders honed their observational drawing skills and got so show their creative side.  Students had to work from a monochromatic color pallet.

Monochromatic Tree Silhouettes

Mrs. Goldstein's class is just wrapping up their first paintings of the year. Student's mixed a chalk pastel background with a painted tree for an eerie effect!
